Against the backdrop of Africa’s accelerating transition toward renewable and clean energy, Intersolar Africa 2026 was held from 3–4 February 2026 in Nairobi, Kenya. The event brought together global solar developers, EPC companies, policymakers, and technology providers, creating a practical platform for technical exchange, business matchmaking, and project collaboration.

At the exhibition, SAJ presented its integrated photovoltaic, energy storage, and energy management solutions, tailored for real-world scenarios including off-grid, weak-grid, and multi-energy parallel applications. Through systematic product demonstrations and in-depth discussions with local partners, system installers, and project developers, SAJ showcased its system integration expertise and project delivery capabilities in complex power environments. CH3 Series Makes Its First Appearance in Africa

During the exhibition, SAJ’s next-generation commercial and industrial (C&I) hybrid inverter — the CH3 Series — made its first public appearance at an African trade show. The launch provided the local market with an early look at its advanced technical architecture and system design philosophy.

Purpose-built for C&I energy storage applications, the CH3 attracted strong interest from EPC contractors, system integrators, and project developers, becoming a focal point of technical discussions. Conversations centered on high electricity tariffs, grid instability, and multi-energy coordination — challenges commonly faced across African markets.

With its systematic design approach and the world’s first 1500V DC-input C&I PV-storage hybrid inverter architecture, the CH3 offers a forward-looking solution that directly addresses these application scenarios.

This African debut also served as a major preview ahead of the product’s official global release in February 2026, when its full technical architecture, application scope, and core capabilities will be formally unveiled.

Featured Presentation · The Next Phase of Mini-Grids in Africa

During the conference forum, SAJ East Africa Technical Director Eustace Ochieng’ Okoth delivered a keynote titled:

“The Future of Mini-Grids in Africa: Enabled by DC-Coupled C&I Solutions.”

Drawing on frontline project experience across Africa, the presentation explored the evolving role of mini-grids in regional electrification — and the transition from early pilot projects to scalable, sustainable energy systems.

As PV and storage costs continue to decline and demand for stable power increases, mini-grids are emerging as a critical energy model connecting rural communities, peri-urban areas, and growing industrial clusters.

From a system architecture perspective, the presentation examined how DC-coupled C&I storage solutions enhance system efficiency, simplify structural design, and improve operational controllability — demonstrating how technology choices directly influence long-term system stability and project bankability.

Practical application cases of the CHS2 50kW/100kWh C&I energy storage solution and the PDS33 variable frequency drive (VFD) were also highlighted. These solutions expand mini-grid capabilities beyond basic power supply, enabling productive-use applications such as irrigation, cold-chain logistics, and industrial loads — strengthening both economic feasibility and long-term sustainability.

CHS2 Integrated Hybrid Energy Storage System

As a core C&I exhibit at the show, the CHS2 integrated hybrid energy storage system is designed for diverse applications including farms, factories, hospitals, hotels, fuel stations, communities, schools, and remote villages.

Featuring a modular architecture and DC-coupled design, the system achieves a balance between efficiency, scalability, and operational manageability. It supports multi-unit parallel connection and flexible capacity expansion, allowing phased deployment based on project size.

The CHS2 is compatible with diesel generator operation and ensures continuous performance in grid-connected, off-grid, or microgrid environments. Its DC-coupled architecture reduces energy conversion losses, improves overall generation utilization, and lowers long-term energy costs.

In response to increasing household electricity consumption, tariff volatility, and rising expectations for supply stability, SAJ offers a residential solution centered around the H2 hybrid inverter and B3 battery system.

The solution covers a wide range of residential scenarios, from standard homes to large households, providing systematic energy management capabilities.

The H2 series supports high-power PV modules and both grid-tied and off-grid operation, making it suitable for complex rooftop conditions and backup-demand households. The modular B3 battery system allows gradual expansion according to household consumption growth, ensuring long-term adaptability.

At the intelligent management level, SAJ integrates the elekeeper Smart Energy Management Platform as the system’s operational “brain” for both residential and C&I applications.

Rather than simply executing preset rules, the platform continuously analyzes historical consumption patterns, tariff fluctuations, and operational data to optimize charge-discharge scheduling and load coordination in real time.
